Programme of Events - September 2017 to June 2018

Our programme is published in June or July of each year and runs
to our AGM in June of the following year.

Unless otherwise stated all meetings are held at the Dormer Conference Centre at St Peter's Church, Dormer Place, Royal Leamington Spa
CV32 5AA and start at 7.30 p.m.

Visitors are welcome to attend - £2.50 per person.

Tuesday 12th September
The Life and Times of Poet John Masefield
(former pupil of Warwick School).
Gervald Frykman, Warwick School Archivist
This event will take place in the Pyne Room, Warwick School
and will include a chance to browse in the Masefield Library.
This will be our annual joint meeting with the Warwick Society.

George Eliot and Warwickshire
Vivienne Wood, the George Eliot Society.
This talk will be part of the
Warwick Words Festival.

Tuesday 7
th November
The New Pevsner Guide to Warwickshire
Chris Pickford, author of the Guide
This will be our annual joint meeting with the
Leamington Society

Our annual members’ night with a seasonal theme
(a small additional fee may be requested to cover the cost of seasonal refreshments)

A member of the theatre’s community and education team

Frances Havergal, Leamington’s Famous Hymn Writer

(followed by tea and home-made cakes)

“Where are the Boys? The First Day of the Battle of the Somme”
Sir Andrew Hamilton on his book about the Somme, focusing on
writers, musicians and artists who participated in the battle.
